  1. Alternatives to Windows 10

    I've tried pretty hard to move to linux. Windows just has all the good programs on it. Also linux has absurd driver issues at times and sometimes requires excess knowledge of certain things. IE connecting to WiFi on Ubuntu is probably the most tedious process I've ever had the displeasure of trying to do. Barnacules Nerdgasm is a youtuber that has some guides on how to disable a lot of telemetry and whatnot. 2-3 videos I think. Unless you want to buy a mac or you don't need many programs, you can try and Linux Distro, BSD variant, Unix variant or other less known operating system.
  2. I missed the destruction of bad company 2, but I love battlefield 3 with rush.
  3. im new to coding...

    I was going to combat this with "But Notepad ++ has the Open with Firefox/chrome/explorer" feature in the dropdown menu. But then I realized if you have normal notepad and file explorer open you can just double click the file. Or just notepad & the browser & refresh the browser anytime you want to see the page updated. If only I liked HTML.... As for python, good luck. I still have no idea how to get a program to run with that. I got Ruby to work with a detailed guide so I imagine it to be similar.
  4. Python or C++

    Power Shell might be useful if you want to go into Information Technology and work at a school or something fixing computers. If you go to a University for it, they'll have some kind of windows scripting class I'm sure. This is the professional standard however Python has Pigame or pygame. It's a type of graphics library (I believe 2D) that lets you create windows and do graphics. It should have some similar concepts in it that can translate to a windowing framework like SDL Pygame was created because Python's SDL was being Depricated at the turn of the millennium... or so I read somewhere. This is just an alternative so you hone your skills in one language. Ultimately, jobs likely want you to have the language they're using as a skill. IE video game companies want C++ with Open GL, Vulkan or DirectX. Which I'm sure you know.
  5. I bought Titanfall but no one plays it :D

    The campaign of Titanfall 2 is definitely worth it though. It's nonstop action the whole time & had replayability. I beat it twice in the span of 3 days.
  6. Anyone good at AI ?

    It's in its early stages, what do you think about this?
  7. Python or C++

    Did you know that Lua has Object Oriented functionality built into its Tables functions? It can act like an array or an object. They're quite versatile.
  8. Anyone good at AI ?

    Yeah, it should be backed up by people like drones are. Let's hope that whomever develops this makes it good enough to protect against such horrible consequences. If we've learned anything from Google's AI, it's that people are just going to send it out and see what happens.
  9. Anyone good at AI ?

    I found a great competitor. Just kidding. But it reminds me of Dr. Nim even though it has nothing to do with it. I think Watson has more in common with Blondie 24 (which now can interface with Unity 3D the game engine.) I can't find it but I saw a documentary on a military light armored vehicle that was meant to be a smart recon robot that could stay out "in the field" for 3 days to gather intelligence. I remember it had some similar technologies to this robot for path-finding: You'd give it a GPS coordinate and it could use land surveying and a* to find the best route along the way to get to the destination. I don't remember its combat instructions though. It has guns so I'm not sure I would want to be in the army near it just yet.
  10. Python or C++

    Technically Python is a scripting language. Why not both? Just kidding. Some people professionals developers here claim to use python for rapid prototyping & then use C++ or other low level languages to write the final product. Many threads here end in "Pick either one. It doesn't really matter." Then there's a post apocalypse in "GAH! PYTHON USES A RUNTIME ENVIRONMENT. YOU LOSE SOME PERFORMANCE. C++ MASTER RACE" combatted with "PYTHON IS USED AT UNIVERSITIES AND DATABASES USE THEM AND IT'S CROSS PLATFORM." And then they get locked and everyone agrees to use straight CSS for all their needs. Python is good for machine learning, cross platform, open source & web development. C++ is good for performance, cross platform (if you have compilers for each environment) & teaching some low level concepts you don't get with some high level languages. Both are good at everything I listed because when there's a programmer there's a library.
  11. Anyone good at AI ?

    I like the A* Mario one I linked and this guy also makes a bot that plays that game with machine learning. It gets crazy at the end. Everyone, what if Zindan is an AI that's traveled back in time and actually knows from personal experience that we won't crack Brawlhalla for another 5 to 10 years? @M.Yurizaki any input? (I'm done. I'm just going to stay in this thread to talk to wasab about bots that play games from now on. If anyone else wants to show off cool bots, I'll talk to you.)
  12. Smoking Barrels - LTT's Unnofficial Gun Club!

    It's similar to how the MP7 has an oversize case to bullet but the size difference makes a difference as it's anti personnel and armor penetrating in a small package. There are some cartridges designed like this for long range shooting though. I cannot think of the rifles nor ammo but here are some images that look like what I'm thinking of. These cartridges are highly specialized though. As is the .50 BMG as an anti-material rifle for disabling vehicles & causing war crimes.
