  1. New Build - Boot issue

This is what it says... what do i do?
  2. New Build - Boot issue

@suchamoneypit @Farden i have tried without it. The only times i have been able to enter windows is when i access the boot settings and select boot override and choosing my HDD (while the windows media tool is in). This makes no sense to me, as i installed windows with only my M.2 drive in. it still wont boot windows and i really dont know what to do. normally speaking, i should be able to boot off of just my m.2 provided my OS is on it. oh and i better add this in but, i dont have my case yet, i was just trying to get ahead by doing some of my installs before it gets here tomorrow. Doubt this would make a difference but felt like i needed to mention it nonetheless
  3. New Build - Boot issue

I have my m.2 as my first, my seagate as my second, and the third and the fourth are there cause of the windows 10 media usb key
  4. New Build - Boot issue

Hey guys, before i get started, to make this easier i shall detail my specs below. PSU: Corsair HX850i GPU: Asus Strix 1080ti OC edition CPU: i7-8700k Motherboard: Asus ROG MAXIMUS X Hero (wifi ac) SSD: Samsung NVMe SSD 960 PRO M.2 512GB HDD: Seagate Barracuda 4tb RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB 3200Mhz AIO: NZXT kraken x52 Case: Corsair crystal 570x alright so im having 2 problems currently and i believe they have something to do with each other. Everything was going fine (ive done 3-4 builds before), i installed the OS and selected the M.2 drive to use to boot off of. Both issues will be detailed below Whenever I turn on my pc, it goes right to the BIOS boot screen instead of the windows boot screen. I have already fixed the boot order and pretty much the only way i currently get it to boot into windows is by constantly turning it off and on again until it randomly does so. When I am using the pc, i noticed that i can not see my Seagate Barracuda drive when in "my computer", all i see is my m.2 with 400 odd GB of storage left. However i can indeed see it in computer management as a disk 2 of drive (C:). https://gyazo.com/98f08cf16ff3466c63d08989c15694b4 I am thinking I did something stupid, but have no clue how to fix it and would very very much appreciate your help
  5. Monitor Choice confusion

There are two z35 models, the z35, and the z35p, the z35p (the one i mention) is also 3440x1440. The difference between z35 and z35p is that the z35 is a 200hz 1080p ultrawide, and the z35p is a 1440p 100hz ultrawide
  6. Monitor Choice confusion

Hey guys, i am currently finishing a pc build inlcuding a 1080ti and a 8700k, and wanted to pick a monitor to do those parts justice. I am currently hesitating between two products: - Acer Predator Z35P - Acer Predator X34A I was however confused to the lack of information (or information that i was able to easily understand). To my understanding the differences are as follows: - The Z35P is 1' larger - The X34A is more expensive - The X34A is an IPS panel, whereas the Z35P is a VA panel - The X34A overclocks to 100hz whereas the Z35P overclocks to 120hz but thats about it... I would very much appreciate if i could receive input regarding as if what I found is indeed correct, if there are other differences that I missed out on, and please, I would implore you to provide your advice/opinion between the two monitors. I am much more of a gamer with light streaming use, than a full content creator. My aim with this is to find the better monitor (as long as the difference is worth it).
  7. Motherboard selection

Also to add, friends have recommended me to get the ASUS MAXIMUS X HERO (WIFI-AC), especially because it is indeed currently available, unlike the other boards i've listed.
  8. Hey guys, lately i've been having doubts about the motherboard selection for my custom build. Before i get to my questions, i'd like to show you my current specs for my planned build. CPU: i7-8700k GPU: Asus Strix Gtx 1080ti OC edition PSU: Corsair HX850i RAM: 32GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RGB 3200Mhz Case: Corsair Crystal 570x CPU cooler: NZXT kraken x52 HDD: 4TB Seagate Barracuda SSD: 500gb M.2 NVME SSD + 500gb 850 evo samsung The motherboard I was thinking about purchasing was the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X FORMULA. The other two contenders are the CODE and the APEX from the same line of motherboards. Im planning on overclocking my CPU to 5.0Ghz. For overclocking capabilities, i've heard the APEX to be the top of the line, but do I really need it to achieve a 5.0Ghz overclock on the 8700k? Secondly, I've heard that the main difference between the CODE and the FORMULA is that the FORMULA is directed towards people doing custom water loops. I've had a preference for the FORMULA due to mainly aesthetics, as I am not using a custom water cooling loop. What I have not been able to find however was is there a downside for me to take the FORMULA over the CODE if I am not going to take advantage of the watercooling benefit, apart from the little financial gap? My big question here is, what do you guys recommend and why between these choices, or any choices that you think might be better? All help is appreciated in advance.
  9. Hey guys before i start here is the build I am planning. Processor: i7-8700k Graphics Card: Asus Strix gtx 1080ti OC edition Motherboard: Asus ROG MAXIMUS X FORMULA RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3200Mhz 32GB Storage: Samsung 960 pro evo 500gb m.2 nvme ssd + 4tb barracuda hdd + 500 gb samsung regular ssd PSU: Corsair hx850i Case: Corsair Crystal 570x Now to the topic at hand. I am hoping to overclock my i7-8700k chip to 5.0 Ghz. I am going to be using AIO watercooling with a push pull configuration, my question is mostly about choice. The case would be running 3 intake, 3 exhaust fans. Aesthetics wise my favorite cooler is the NZXT Kraken X52 240mm AIO. But I am not sure if I should be able to attain a 5.0 Ghz overclock. In any and all situations I would replace the provided thermal paste with higher quality market ones such as the arctic silver. My questions are therefore as follows: 1) Do you think a 240mm radiator would be sufficient in push-pull or do i need a 360mm one? 2) If i do indeed need a 360mm radiator, what would be your recommendation? Despite wanting very high performance I do care about the aesthetics of the build and therefore am against using thermaltakes disgusting looking 360mm AIO due the the heatsink cover. 3) Disregarding questions 1 and 2, to attain such an overclock is delidding the processor necessary? 4) any other recommendations or words of advice you can give me concerning the matter?
  10. Laptop wont boot - urgent help

I tried removing the ram and hard drive and battery individually, two by two, and all together at once. Still not working... probably the motherboard
  11. Laptop wont boot - urgent help

By resetting the ram what exactly do you mean? im on windows 10, with intel HD graphics.
  12. Hey guys, i really need your help here. I was in class today and my laptop (a Dell Latitude E5450) just suddenly powered off). At first i thought it might have been out of battery so when i got home i plugged it in and waiting for around an hour. I hit the power button, the LED around it turned on, no fans or screen functioned, and it just turned right back off. I’ve tried the common fix of removing the battery supply and reconnecting it, as well as removing it, and the power outlet, holding down the button for 15-30 seconds, plugging it in, turning it on and then inserting the battery. i need this laptop for my classes it is very important and the closest tech place takes 3 days to repair so i figured i’d ask you guys and take a shot hoping you can help...
  13. Hey guys im currently putting together parts for a custom build and i have been trying to perfect it for a little while and one of my last issues is the cooler. my pc will be using an i7-7700k overclocked up as high as i can get it. im not going with the full tube and reservoir set up and just want to use an AIO. My pc case is gona be the corsair crystal 570X (yes i know people will be recommending the meshify C, but please dont bother, ive made my mind up on the issue). the case supports a 360 radiator in the front. Due to my graphics card clearance, i can either put a 240mm AIO with a push pull configuration, or a 360mm on standard configuration. will one give me much higher overclocking headroom than the other? the AIOs i was debating between are NZXTs kraken series or corsairs AIO coolers. thanks for all help in advance
  14. so im planning on getting a Asus Maximus IX Formula motherboard for my upcoming custom build. I've read reviews claiming that the built in networking features were really good. I just wanted a second opinion on the matter
