  1. Dear Friends, I would like to start saying that this actually is my first post in to the forum so Hi to everyone! I was looking from quite some time in to the web for information, that I'm abut to ask you for, but I can not find it anywhere. Hope you guys can help me. I have the great opportunity to have in my hand bought ASUS 1080 Ti ( as my own graphic card) and Quadro P5000 (which i luckily win yesterday in a contest) . Some guys told me that they have the same chip architecture so I can run them together in my rig to deal with heavy tasks like GPU rendering using V-Ray. With that in mind I have three questions to start with: - Is it possible to run bought P5000 and 1080 Ti in one system and to complete tasks together ? - I'm with MotherBoard << ASUS Rampage IV Black >> Is it going to support it ? - I have Cooler Master GX750W PSU. Is it going to be enough to run the bought of them (1080Ti is 250W and P5000 is 180W) Hope that you guys can help me because the next step is to plug them bought and try... not sure what will be the result. Kind regards and great day you to all! Stoyan D.
  2. Can an EKWB waterblock for the Zotac 1080 amp work with the 1080ti amp edition?
  3. Best 1080 Ti Variant

Hi all, So I'm currently in the market for a 1080Ti and was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on the best 1080 Ti, I'm not necessarily saying the most expensive but the best 'all-rounder' I guess. Something that doesn't have coil whine (or much of it), a good overclocker and from a decent brand. Founders editions cards aren't welcome as I won't be watercooling. I've currently got my sights set on an EVGA SC2 card. For measure I'm going to be placing this with a delidded 8700k & Maximus Hero motherboard. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated.
  4. I'm planning on upgrading my pc, quite a lot, one thing I'm not entirely sure about though is what kind of processor I should get along side it. #1. I don't really have a budget cap, but realistically my cap is roughly $1900 (but I would prefer not paying more than $1000 for the cpu) NOTE: this is the price for the CPU, CPU cooling and of course, if needed, the motherboard. NOT the graphics card with those things, Because I already have it. lmao. #2. Depending on the type of CPU I might want to get liquid cooling or really good fans / a good case for airflow (I'm swapping the case either way which is kind of why I'm even asking. price of the case does go into that original $1900 price cap, please keep that in mind). I would highly appreciate if you send links of where I can buy said liquid cooling and/or fans and case. NOTE: I have absolutely no clue how to install liquid cooling, send link/links to videos please and I have done some research and I've decided that hard pipes are probably the best but also hardest too install. With a bit of pre-planning I should be fine, though. #3. powersupply, I currently have a 750W PSU which, should work? maybe, maybe not and if not then, well, I'll have to get one, gladly send liks to that as well. NOTE: I would like a modular one, but it doesn't matter. #4. This is less important but still a good note. I have a 1151 intel socket on my motherboard at the moment, in case you find something that fits in that socket I don't need to swap the mother board, I wouldn't mind saving money if I can. #5. RAM and very important shtuff, I have 16 gigs right now, what kind doesn't matter too much, I don't think. and honestly I don't think i need more, BUT this does bring me to my last point. I want to start streaming on twitch. and the reason I'm getting a new processor is because mine currently cannot handle any game released this year or late last year, while streaming that is. My screen is fine but the stream runs delayed or at 0.5 fps. or both. 3 questions and 1 request. Do I need more RAM? if yes, what kind? Could you specifically look for CPUs that are good for streaming, I ruv u rong time (was that racist? if you got offended, sorry <3) final question, which is more streaming than pc related. what kind of capture/streaming card should I get? if I should get one at all, which at some point I probably will. And I think that about covers it. Sorry for any spelling errors, for potentially wasting your time and if it got weird at the end, it's 11:30 pm now when I'm writing this post. Reminder; This is for a setup with a 1080 ti. PS. I am from Sweden, so if you are as well, please send links Swedish sites (not that English is hard, it's just easier to order etc). if not, then send me links or names to products and I'll find them here myself. THANK YOU FOR READING!
  5. I think I will be fine, however I wanted the opinion of the community on this one. I'm putting together the following system; Asus ROG Crosshair VII 2700X 1080 Ti 2x 960 Pro NVMe (RAID 0) So this MoBo will support NVMe RAID, however it will drop the x16 PCI-E slot down to x8 speed as a result. Will this incur and performance penalties on my GTX1080 Ti. Thanks for the help.
  6. So, About a year ago i bought an Acer Aspire GX-781 with an Nvidia GTX 1060 (3gb) which consumes 2 graphics card slots. The GTX 1080 Ti consumes 2.5 slots. Will it fit, or how can i check if it will?
  7. Brand switching.

Switching from 290 in xfire to a 1080 ti. Any special way I should uninstall the amd drivers before I install the NVidia drivers? First NVidia card.
  8. hey guys can i run triple 4K monitor at max with just a dual gtx 1080 ti ????
  9. Project suit and tie

Hey all, Just wanted to share my almost finished build. I live in an apartment with my girlfriend who has a crafting station already. This limits my space for a gaming setup so I went with a small case for factor. I decided to go with the corsair air 240. Below are parts of my build: Case: air240 Cpu:i77700k delidded with rockit88 kit applied conductonaut ti cpu die Also, replaced intels ihs with rockit's beautiful copper ihs. Also added a custom side panel made of cle as r acrylic with 1/2" standoffs (painted copper) I think I got everything lol! This build was certainly a challenge. My first pump alphacools vpp755 d5 pump was a dud and delayed build by a week. So picked up eks pump and it is working wonderfully. Another challenge was working in such a small case. Truly a challenge. From being able to find the parts that actually fit in the case, to running soft tubing in back without kinks in the back, to making sure the build was nice, neat, and clean looking. That was my main goal. I wanted a clean looking build like when you get all dressed up for a formal dinner party in your "suit and tie", hence the name of this build "suit and tie" along with that I tried to stay with the black and white theme. But then i realized that my blocks were copper so i wanted to incorporate copper copper into the color scheme. I will be adding more copper to this build by painting white fittings copper, and putting copper painted accents when I do the white mobo tray which will take up the entire back side of the case. This build is far from over as I want to clean it up a bit by adding more white acrylic paneling to the top and, as previously mentioned to the backside of the case as a mobo tray. I also spray painted the metal grates copper to incorporate more copper into the color scheme. Please let me know what you think. All critisicim is welcome as I am constantly upgrading/updating/modding this build. In my eyes this build will never be complete :))
  10. Hi Guys! Here is "THE REDRIPPER" project that I’ve been planning to build since the mid-winter due to lack of spare-time. The components have been laying around for months now. I’ve had enough to stare every single day to them, lol. So I decided to begin at least with a build-log. At the beginning i was doubting to go with AMD which it's first time to go with red team. I hope i won't be disappointed. This build will be used for 2D-3D modelling and video editing software which is very new for me. Well, after making a few extra holes on fan holes (expanded a few mm) in front i had to recover it somehow. Then something more complicated came to my mind.Anodized Color coat, Granite Stone paint, Matt black paint and off course primer. I have lost many pictures during the process of the painting. Because my harddrive is got broke. These are what i have saved so far:(.
  11. Corsair air 240

Hey all, I finished my build. I went with the corsair air240. I live in an apartment with my girlfriend and she has her own crafting area, which didnt leave me much room for a computer so I decided to go with a small form factor case and mother board. Ek waterblocks abd fittngs, thermaltake tubing, black nemesis radiators, corsair ml120 fans, delidded liquid metal i77700k, 1080 ti, corsair vengance lpx 3000mhz 8x2 gb ram. I am ALWAYS looking for ideas to upgrade this build. I have an abundance of leftover acrylic, an unused dremel, and an unsatisfiable need to continue to upgrade this build to make it look amazing. I will be doing a motherboard tray with white acrylic that will sit behind the motherboard and will extend the entire back side of the case, to give it a clean white box look. Again just looking for ideas to mod it even more. Please any ideas are welcome. Thanks so much!
  12. 60hz Gsync vs 1440p >120hz

Hi all, I need some advice. I just built a pretty powerful gaming rig (delidded i7-7700k 1080 ti). With this I play titles such as pubg, assetto corsa, csgo, fortnite, etc.. I just bought an AOC Ag271ug (60hz/4k/IPS/Gsync). With such a powerful rig most of my games have stable FPS in the 100's at 4k. I was told that my monitor wont show more than 60 fps though. Am I wasting the power of this GPU with this monitor. Should I trade a 4k 60hz gsync for a 1440p >120hz non gsync monitor? Lastly, if I do decide to keep the 60hz aoc should i be leaving gsync on if my fps is constantly pushing 100+ fps on most of the games i play? Also, if I were to lower the resolution to 1080p on my games will I be able to see more fps (For example some monitors are 60hz at 4k but 144 hz at 1080p)? There really isnt any screen tearing or anything. It just seems like there is some lag in first person shooters when trying to shoot a gun accurately but really I dont have anything to compare to, which is why I am asking. I just dont understand how my 60hz monitor is displaying 100+ fps on my in game overlays. Am I really seeing 100+ fps or is my monitor cutting it off at 60fps and I am not getting the most out of my gpu? Sorry for the long explanation but it is really hard to explain the concerns I have for my current setup. I attached pictures of my rig and the monitor for some eye candy, as linus was really my main inspiration for building an ultimate gaming rig.
  13. Hi everyone, So for months now my Forza Horizon 3 on PC hasn't really worked and I need to get to the bottom of it, it's my favorite game and I can barely play it. System specs are i7-7700k, Dual 1080 Tis, 16gb DDR4, and game is running off intel 600p SSD. It runs fine. No stuttering, 4k max settings without v-sync and on fullscreen windowed ~80fps, but after a few minutes of playing, it freezes for 2 seconds, then closes to desktop. I have tried the following: Full system reset - wiping everything Removing overclock on CPU and GPU Limiting GPU to 60C (Doesn't overheat anyway) Running game with many different setting configurations. Removing second graphics card to run without SLI Any ideas? Cheers
  14. Hello, today i powered up my pc to find that my gpu was immediately thermal throttling, not yet full sure of what the issue was i made sure there were no background tasks, then i took apart my radiator and cleaned 1 months worth of dust out of it. I was hoping that the problem was just the radiator, but nope. My pump had died. So i was wondering if it is covered by warranty and if i could get a replacement part or maintenance from evga. I have the standard 3 year warranty that comes with all evga graphics cards. thank you for reading this and i hope you have a fantastic day.
  15. When comparing the specs, i notice the only difference seems to be that the GIGABYTE GPU has the added line of "OC Mode: 1632 MHz" In addition to the normal "Gaming Mode: 1607 MHz" Is that seriously the only difference? Shouldn't they still be able to overclock to equal values manually? If the GIGABYTE isn't better in any way, i'll happily take the $100 difference! Anyway, Here are the 2 GPU's GIGABYTE: https://newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125953 ZOTAC: https://newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500423&cm_re=1080_ti-_-14-500-423-_-Product
  16. Hey guys! so i've recently sold my "old" gpu to a friend. the 1080 ti Aorus that is. and i'm now using one of my mining 1080 ti strix's to power my main rig. I've bin having some fun trying to oc this card, and found i can hit 2100mhz with its original cooler not pushing more then 65% fan-speed, also the card isn't getting much hotter then 55*c. so i was thinking i should be able to push some more mhz with that margin. but then the 1080 ti strix only has a 120% power target.. against the 150% my Aorus had. so i'm here to ask if there is any way to remove the power target limit (where i don't have to mod the card physically). or some way to get the core voltage to be more stable then it is. its jumping all over the place between 1000-1075mv. was hoping i could get it to hold a consistent 1100mv on 100% usage. or just somehow increase the power target past 120%. anyone that has some experience with this card or in general? i done some basic Oc'ing in my time. but nothing past physically modding or bios mod's yet.
  17. Zotac 1080 Ti Amp Edition

Hi Everyone! I just backordered the Zotac 1080 Ti as it was at "almost" MSRP pricing here in Canada. I was wondering about the choice of the card in general as I heard that the cooler isn't exactly great since it can get hot fairly quickly. I do come from using a 1070 Ti Strix card and I know that system gets fairly cool and even better quiet. Thoughts about the card in general?
  18. Hello gents, I started putting together a gaming and 3d animation PC: Asus Maximus X Code, i7-8700k, 32Gb 3200Mhz g.skill Trident DDR4 cl14, kraken x62, nzxt h700i case, asus 32” 21:9 100Mhz g-sync monitor. I currently have an ancient yet sufficient PSU, but I am planning to replace it with a corsair ax(1200-1600)i - whatever the hell the miners decide to spare for even a god damn minute... i dont overclock beyond standard, nor delid, but I want smooth performance and a second GPU soon. I currently have an ASUS GTX 1080 TI ROG STRIX OC (O11G) graphics card and - in the combination presented above, does its job nicely for both gaming, video editing as well as my hobby level blender animations. On the other hand, the noise level and the heat caused by the GPU during load are pretty terrible. Also as my rendering experience increased, so did the complexity of the scenes and objects that i work with, bottleneck right now is the GPU. I plan to get a second card for SLI, but i would like to ask for some advice. What would you choose between: 1. A second identical graphics card (which will probably cause even more noise and heat): https://asus.com/Graphics-Cards/ROG-STRIX-GTX1080TI-O11G-GAMING/ 2. A Gigabyte Aorus Gtx 1080 Ti waterforce Xtreme Edition 11G (which will probably underclock for SLI, but remain quiet and cool and even add another fan in my case supposebly blowing the heat outwards): https://gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N108TAORUSX-W-11GD-rev-10-11#kf The choice is as hard as finding either model in stock at the moment, but I am a very patient man. I would prefer option 2, and use it as main graphics card placed at top on the MOBO, preventing growing temperatures caused by the fan cooling of the other card. But it is still very confusing to me if this approach will actually perform better and for a longer period of time... i did not find any benchmarks or any helpful tips for a similar setup. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
  19. Hey everyone, I am looking for a motherboard which could support:- 1. two NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti, 2. 2 TB SSD, 3. i7 8700K, 4. and 128 GB 2133/2666 Mhz RAM. A power supply to power this rig up, and a case to house everything inside. Also, any suggestions on what type of cooling should I use would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  20. Will a R5 1600x bottleneck a 1080ti?

Hey, i am planning on upgrading my cpu (i still have an amd fx 8320) so i can upgrade my graphics card to a really beefy one. Even though the titles says 1080ti, i am planning on buying a 2080 on it's release. But the 1080ti is the closest thing we actually have benchmarks of. My question is: Will a Ryzen 5 1600x bottleneck a 1080ti? I am playing mostly gpu demanding games at [email protected] Blender (Cycles render) should utilize the full gpu regardless of my cpu during render, right?
  21. Should i go for it?

There is a guy who lives close to me with 4 1080ti's at £700 each. Note i have seen pictures of them and watch them being tested on his rig. Have i found a deal here?
  22. So I have a simple question, I emailed EVGA asking if they know when they'll get more GPU stock and they said they really don't know but I'm soooo eager to get one to build my first PC already and water cool it, the guy also said that we do have some stock for people buying bundles and so I went through the bundles and saw three that had the GPU that I wanted but they each had a different EVGA X299 Motherboard with them. My question is who would wanna buy (from me) one of the three motherboards listed below for exactly the price they are listed on the site and it would be unopened completely, I would just receive it, take everything out that's mine and leave the motherboard box unopened and then just mail the mobo to whoever would buy it from me. Whichever motherboard you pick I will buy the bundle that has the motherboard. I really hope someone can do this so that I could build my first PC and hard tubing water cool it. Only will mail to US and Canada and the closer you are to me (Florida) the better. EVGA X299 Motherboards: EVGA X299 DARK, 151-SX-E299-KR, LGA 2066, Intel X299, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.1, USB 3.0, EATX, Intel Motherboard ($499.99) EVGA X299 FTW K, 142-SX-E297-KR, LGA 2066, Intel X299, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.1, USB 3.0, EATX, Intel Motherboard ($349.99) EVGA X299 Micro, 131-SX-E295-KR, LGA 2066, Intel X299, SATA 6Gb/s, USB 3.1, USB 3.0, mATX, Intel Motherboard ($299.99)
  23. Endless Nvidia kernal crashes

Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080 Ti xtreme edition As the title says I've been dealing with countless Nvidia display driver kernel crashes and subsequent recoveries. Sometimes I can go days without a crash but other times I am getting 4 or more crashes a day. All of these happen usually when browsing Imgur especially anything with gifs or more rarely when watching youtube. Because of these crashes the software for my Corsair keyboard and mouse fail as in my mouse macros stop working and I can't open up the utility program until I restart the rig. Gaming is 100% reliable. In the past I have tried using Display Driver Uninstaller DDU to clean up the previous drivers or use Nvidia's built in clean install option but these are unreliable and the issue keeps coming back. Googling has shown that this is a on going issue since 2012. Is there a actual solution to these crashes that lasts longer then until I get the next driver update? And how is this not talked about more?
  24. Help a noob

Hi, this is my first post here! Hope that i can get some help haha well, my almost 5 years old gtx780 died almost a month ago, during playing heroes of the storm, it just stopped sending video although it turns on and everything. the case is that I’m in need of a new gpu and of course I’m affected by this cryptogpucrisis, I’m living in Spain and sometimes I’m able to find some 1080 ti blower style cards and of course those are the cheapest around 600 euros for a FE, or Asus turbo, etc. i have a big case with a decent airflow *CM Stryker. So my doubt is if i should get one of these cards, i will be using it primarily for 3D rendering and gaming 1080p and in the future i plan buy one or two more for rendering, i have not experience water cooling GPUS but that idea sounds good to me. So what is your recommendation, should i just wait for a AIB card? Or its a good idea to get a blower card these days? sorry for my English haha thank you!
  25. Cannot record or stream with new monitor

I got a dell SG s2716dg, and I can no longer record.. I can only record in dirt trash quality. I have a i7- 4790k, z87m GAMING Motherboard GTX1080 TI, 16g vengance ram, 2 850 EVO ssds, one 500g, one 1tb. All recording software and recording is ONLY on the tb ssd. NOTHING ELSE. Its only reason for existence is to record. Action lags my games, all games. Obs doesnt record in high quality no matter the settings, Dxtory lags game and video. Before getting this monitor I did not have a single issue recording and did 1080i 60p Videos.( I have all my drivers updated, monitor, gpu, anything. (update: Shadowplay ‘functions’ without lag, but trash quality.)
