  1. alright, so this is gonna be the start of the buildlog i'm doing to switch my system from it's current config to AMDs Threadripper platform. I'm doing this because my motherboard died sadly. I was in the process of swapping the CPU for a 2690V2 when i put in a little too much force and ended up breaking one of the chokes on the VRMs when my screwdriver slipped. It's the middle one on the picture below. Luckily Asrock just recently released the X399M Taichi board, which makes this as good of a time as any to make the plunge! Lesson learned i guess, when i get to installing the Threadripper slow and steady is gonna be the way to go Just look at this board tough! If i ever got a tech-boner from something it has got to be this thing. so much stuff crammed on so little space! First things first, right now my setup looks like this: which is really just a heartbreaking thing to see if i'm honest. this rig was made to crunch numbers in [email protected], not sit still disassembled on my desk. Sadly i won't be able to really get going with this untill later on this month when my paycheck comes. I was not prepared to make the switch this early, so i can only buy the motherboard right now. speaking of which, lets make a to do list. i really only need to swap out the RAM, motherboard and CPU. everything else in the system is ready to go really. I'll also need to swap out the X99 edition CPU block for a TR4 model. PARTS! RED= pending, BLUE= bought, GREEN= arrived and in my hands! Asrock X399M Taichi motherbord AMD RYZEN Threadripper 1900X Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2x8) DDR4 3000 EKWB Supremacy Threadripper CPU block EKWB EK-FC Geforce GTX FE GPU block XSPC temperature sensor/display Alphacool temperature sensor in a G1/4 fitting Noctua NF-F12 Chromax (x3) So i guess that's it for now. Watch this space for updates, which will come as parts start rolling in!

  4. I'm looking at picking up the Rosewill Rise Glow case here: newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147227&_ga=1.129932620.1790864013.1438895638 I'm wondering if there's anyone who's owned this case or the Rise that can give me their opinion about it. I've looked at reviews and other forums and people seem to like this case but I'd like to know if there's any unexpected drawbacks I might run into when I finally open the box. I plan to put these components inside it - if it's any help: PSU - Corsair CX750m Board - msi Z97S SLI Krait Edition CPU - i7 4790k Devil's Canyon (Cooler: Noctua NH-D15) DRAM - 8Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 (2x 4Gb) GPU - GTX 960 Strix oc Case - Rosewill Rise Glow* HD - Seagate 1Tb SSHD, WD Green 1Tb HDD (for now) All replies are appreciated

  6. Source: http://kotaku.co.uk/2014/08/26/pewdiepie-made-skate-3-popular-ea-started-reprinting-game Soo yeah. Apparently, since PewDiePie played Skate 3 on his channel, the demand for the four year old game has been so big, that EA felt it necessary to start printing it again... So, I know that you peeps might not like him, but I think it is pretty darn amazing, that a series of YouTube videos can have such an impact... Like, that game is four years old, man! EDIT: This is not supposed to be a "I h4te Poodiepaj so muchhhzzzz" thread
